a) congress was not allowed to regulate commerce within the states and among other countries, there was no executive branch to enforce laws, and both the federal government and individual states could coin money. To combat these issues, the Constitution outlined the powers of Congress in Article 1, Section 8, and gave them the power to, "Regulate commerce with foreign nations and among the several states", and coin money, restricting these powers to the federal government and not the states. Finally, article two of the constitution creates the executive branch, giving the power to carry out laws to the president. b)While a decentralized government favors more power to the states, a centralized government favors more power to the national government. This means that a proponent of a decentralized government would be considered more of a conservative, as conservatives favor a smaller national government. Likewise, a supporter of a more centralized government would be considered liberal because liberals believe in a stronger and more involved national government. Today, there is significant disagreement over gun control. Conservatives believe in loose or no gun control and firmly believe in the 2nd amendment, while Liberals want stricter gun control, such as heavy background checks and banning the purchase of automatic machine guns. Due to this disagreement among political parties, it is valid to state that there is still tensions between centralized and decentralized government, as a decentralized government stands against gun control, while a centralized government is for gun control.
